My Nikon D70
When Nikon released the D1 I was enthralled. It was digital, it was Nikon and it would hold all my Nikon lenses. Back then I told my good friend John Gossman, another budding photography amigo whose presence I sorely miss (because he went and got married and all), that I wanted a D-SLR. However, I qualified that with “The Nikon D1 is amazing, but it’s only the start. I can’t switch from film until a 3rd generation D-SLR is available for under $1000 that has at least 6MP…” Well the time is here.
Last Thursday I purchase my first ever D-SLR, the Nikon D70. The reviews are top-notch and I just couldn’t hold out. So now that I’ve got a digital that can hold all my AF-S lenses, will I sell the Coolscan IV and F100? Give me 6 month, I’ll let you know then. In the mean time expect new pictures on a much more regular basis.
Oh yes, by the way, the viewfinder is sub-optimal but I’m already used to it. Man I wish I could shove a digital back on my F100
